Yesterday marked the start of the Saudi University Sports Federation Swimming Championship, as part of the Federation’s 15th season of competitions. The event is hosted by King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, and runs for three days at the university sports city swimming pools in Al-Fara’a, Abha.

Participants competed on the first day in six races, including: 100m backstroke, 200m breaststroke, 400m freestyle, 100m butterfly, and the 4x100m freestyle relay.

In the 50m freestyle race, Imad Al-Din Basem from Alfaisal University claimed first place, followed by Hassan Ali Al-Baqshi from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in second place, and Dawood Shuaib Al-Rashidi from Majmaah University in third.

In the 100m backstroke, Ali Saeed Al-Maher from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University secured first place, with Ali Makki Al-Sadah from King Abdulaziz University in second, and Saleh Fuad Al-Habbash from King Faisal University in third.

In the 200m breaststroke, first place went to Hashim Reda Al-Alawi from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, second place to Ahmed Bilal Al-Zaid also from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, and third place to Nawaf Fuad Al-Khalifa from King Faisal University.

In the 400m freestyle, Ali Hussein Al-Eisa from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University took first place, followed by Hamzah Ahmed Al-Turaiki from the same university in second, and Kamil Majid Al-Saffwani from Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University in third.

In the 100m butterfly, Imad Al-Din Basem Ahmed from Alfaisal University came first, followed by Ali Abduljaleel Al-Samin from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in second, and Hussein Bin Ali Al-Baqshi, also from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, in third.

In the 4x100m freestyle relay, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University achieved first place, followed by King Saud University in second, and King Abdulaziz University in third.
