Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University Wins First Place at the International Volunteer Day Forum 2025

In a qualitative achievement reflecting King Khalid University’s leadership in volunteer work, the Deanship of Student Affairs—represented by the Volunteer Unit, the Volunteer Work Club, and all affiliated student clubs—won first place at the International Volunteer Day Forum 2025, organized by the University’s General Administration for Volunteering and Community Partnership. This recognition comes in appreciation of outstanding qualitative indicators and exceptional figures that embodied the scale of the community and economic impact generated by volunteer efforts.

This accolade is the result of well-structured institutional work that strengthened the University’s presence in the field of volunteering and transformed student initiatives into programs with tangible impact, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to empower youth and promote volunteerism.

The Deanship of Student Affairs recorded remarkable achievements, with 32,854 volunteers, 340 volunteer opportunities, and a total of 2,232,932 volunteer hours, in addition to achieving an overall satisfaction rate of 89.03%, reflecting the high quality of organization and the efficiency of planning and execution.

The Dean of Student Affairs at King Khalid University, Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, affirmed that this achievement is the result of strong support from the University leadership and the direct outcome of integrated efforts between the Deanship and student clubs. He noted that the University continues to entrench a culture of volunteer work as one of the vital pathways for building the character of university students.

Dr. Al-Qahtani stated:

> “We are proud of this achievement, which was realized through joint efforts and a unified team spirit. It embodies the awareness of King Khalid University students of their societal role and reflects the Deanship’s commitment to empowering youth potentials and directing them toward sustainable volunteer initiatives that serve the community and reinforce national values, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”

He added that the Deanship of Student Affairs is working to further develop the volunteer work ecosystem, enhance the organizational and administrative efficiency of student clubs, and motivate students to actively participate in community initiatives with long-term impact.

This achievement underscores the Deanship of Student Affairs’ continued leadership and renewed contribution, as well as its pivotal role in empowering university youth and transforming volunteer work into an effective institutional practice that contributes to both community and economic development.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region, King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, participated in the Seventh Annual Forum for Families of Persons with Disabilities, held under the theme “Inclusive Partnership,” as part of the Deanship’s commitment to promoting social inclusion and enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families.

The Deanship of Student Affairs took part through an informational booth highlighting the key services and programs provided to male and female students with disabilities, including academic accommodations and support services aimed at creating an enabling and equitable learning environment that supports academic excellence and success.

In addition, the Deanship contributed to organizing the forum through the participation of a group of female student volunteers, reflecting students’ strong sense of social responsibility and the Deanship’s commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism and community engagement.

The forum placed particular emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility, with sign language interpreters provided across all sessions and seminars to ensure equal access to information and content for all attendees, in line with best practices in universal accessibility.

The Deanship of Student Affairs’ participation in this forum forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community partnerships, promote inclusive practices, and support initiatives that empower persons with disabilities, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a vibrant and inclusive society that offers equal opportunities for all.

The staff of the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University held a ceremony to honor the former Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and dedicated efforts that significantly enhanced the deanship’s work system and positively impacted the services provided to male and female students.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector of King Khalid University for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, who commended Dr. Al-Qahtani for his valuable contributions during his tenure, praising the achievements that supported the educational environment and strengthened student services and activities.

King Khalid University, through the Deanship of Student Affairs represented by the Agency for Student Activities, organized the Open Sports Day on December 11, 2025, celebrating the university’s achievement of fifth place in the Saudi Universities Sports Performance Index for the year 1446 AH. In collaboration with Al-Batterjee Medical Colleges, the Deanship also held an exchange basketball match and various sports challenges at the Al-Faraa Sports Hall, as part of its efforts to promote sports activities and foster a spirit of positive competition among students.
