On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the College of Arts and Humanities Club organized a workshop titled “Basics of Screenwriting and Storytelling in Films.” The session was conducted by Mr. Abdullah Mujahid, a lecturer from the Department of Media and Communication at King Khalid University. The workshop witnessed significant participation, with over 25 students and several faculty members attending. It focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of screenwriting and storytelling, enriching their understanding of creative and media narratives.

The Law College Club, in collaboration with the Law College Club for Female Students and the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized the “Legal Competition” on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The event aimed to foster a competitive spirit and promote legal and intellectual awareness among the college’s students. As part of raising awareness about drug risks, students from the Applied College Club in Mahayil participated in an event organized by the “Aoun” Association on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Prince Nayef Cultural Center in Mahayil. The event included awareness lectures, interactive workshops, inspiring success stories, and a psychological counseling corner offering direct support to students. The initiative was well-received and contributed to promoting prevention and psychological support.

In a remarkable achievement reflecting the literary excellence of King Khalid University’s students, Eid bin Hassan Al-Zawahima, a student from the College of Law, secured first place and the “University Poet” title in the prestigious “Camp of Ruins” poetry competition. The event, held as part of the Diwan initiative at King Saud University in Riyadh, saw wide participation from students across Saudi universities. Al-Zawahima’s exceptional poetry captivated both the judging panel and the audience, further showcasing the university’s continuous support for nurturing literary talent through the Deanship of Student Affairs. This victory highlights the university’s commitment to fostering excellence in various cultural and academic fields.

In a new achievement showcasing the excellence of King Khalid University’s female students, students from the College of Law secured seventh place in the “Best Respondent Memorandum” award at the SIAM6 International Commercial Arbitration Competition, with support from the Deanship of Student Affairs. The competition saw participation from 154 teams worldwide, where the students demonstrated exceptional skills in commercial arbitration, highlighting the high level of education and professionalism offered by the university.

The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Student Activities Agency, concluded the “Archery Championship” as part of the 10th Sports Olympiad and the Ajawid 3 initiative. The event saw enthusiastic participation from university students, competing in an atmosphere filled with excitement and challenge. At the closing ceremony, the top-performing students were honored for their exceptional accuracy and skills, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting diverse sports and fostering student talent.

King Khalid University students Yazan Al-Shamrani and Rayan Al-Shihri participated in the “Arab Leaders Preparation Program” hosted by the University of Sharjah, with support from the Deanship of Student Affairs. The program aimed to enhance leadership and innovation skills among Arab youth through intensive training sessions and workshops, featuring renowned academics and experts in management and entrepreneurship. This participation underscores the university’s commitment to empowering its students and preparing them to play a key role in shaping the future.

In a new achievement showcasing the excellence of King Khalid University’s female students in sports competitions, the university secured second place in the Women’s Chess Championship, hosted by Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, with support from the Deanship of Student Affairs. Student Sarah Al-Shihri claimed the silver medal after intense competition against 16 participants, demonstrating the strategic skills and outstanding performance of the university’s students.

The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Female Students’ Affairs Agency, organized a training workshop titled “Sports During Fasting Month” for university female students. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity during Ramadan. The first segment of the workshop highlighted the health benefits of exercising while fasting, recommended workout routines, and the best times for physical activity. The second part discussed the impact of fasting on recovery from sports injuries, providing essential guidelines to ensure safe and effective exercise during the holy month.
