On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Pharmacy College Club at King Khalid University organized an exceptional event titled **"Medicines Tell Stories."** The event highlighted a variety of unique medical topics and featured active participation from multiple committees, adding richness and diversity to the content.

The event featured several sections, including stories of rare medical cases and their treatments, unconventional therapies used in various cultures, and stories of drug discoveries. Additionally, the event highlighted national contributions, specifically focusing on our nation's role in developing certain medications and providing expensive drugs free of charge to citizens.

Pamphlets and printed materials containing valuable information on the discussed topics were distributed at the sections, contributing to increased awareness among attendees. Several pharmacy students volunteered to oversee the sections, explaining the topics and discussing details with visitors, adding an interactive element to the event.

A delightful hospitality corner offered visitors drinks and sweets, while a special section for ornamental plants provided a beautiful ambiance and shared information on the medicinal benefits of plants, showcasing medications derived from botanical sources. The event also included a recreational section with games and puzzles, making the atmosphere more fun and engaging.

Attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers through activities conducted by the club's students, which fostered a sense of participation and community among the students.

As part of supporting student activities and enhancing the integration between academic and counseling departments, the Student Club at the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Khamis Mushait, in collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling Department, organized the club’s first event of the academic semester 1446H, titled "Join Us." The program took place on Sunday, September 10, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the college auditorium, attended by faculty members and students.

The event opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming speech from the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, who highlighted the college's continuous support for students and its commitment to providing the best educational environment for them.

The faculty advisor of the student club then gave a speech, focusing on the vital role the club plays in encouraging students to actively participate in university activities and develop their personal skills, thus enriching their university experience and shaping their personalities.

The event concluded with a speech by the head of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, who discussed the essential role the department plays in supporting students throughout their academic journey. He explained how the department provides educational and counseling services, along with psychological and social support, to help students navigate the challenges of university life. He also highlighted the comprehensive services offered by the department, aiming to enhance students' university experience and empower them to achieve academic success.

The event ended with heartfelt wishes for success to all the students, along with a reaffirmation of the program organizers' ongoing support for them at every stage of their academic journey.
 

On Tuesday, 30/2/1446 AH, the Applied College Club in Abha, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students and the House of Culture in Ahad Rafidah, organized a cultural visit to the Asir Manuscripts Exhibition. The program aimed to introduce female students to the importance of preserving heritage and raising cultural awareness about the rich history left by their ancestors.

The event began with an introductory session by Mr. Faisal, the Director of the House of Culture, who explained the differences between cultural houses and public libraries, highlighting the various services these institutions provide to different community groups. He answered the students' questions about the roles these cultural institutions play.

The students were divided into three groups, each accompanied by supervisors, and toured different sections of the House of Culture. On the first floor, they explored the manuscripts exhibition, which houses rare manuscripts dating back to the 13th century, discussing their historical significance and value.

In a unique experience, the students used artificial intelligence technologies through a virtual reality station. They attended a virtual exhibition at King Abdulaziz University via Metaverse glasses, adding a new dimension to their cultural experience.

The tour continued on the second floor, where scientific and specialized books were displayed, along with innovation rooms and modern technologies for people with disabilities. Meeting rooms and learning spaces, designed to foster creative thinking, were also showcased.
The students then visited the children's library and the women's section to learn how these spaces are utilized for developing knowledge and skills. At the end of the tour, they were invited to use the facilities of the House of Culture for their academic and entrepreneurial projects.

The event was marked by active participation from the students, who engaged enthusiastically in the activities and discussions throughout the tour. The event was supervised by Mr. Faisal Braidi, Mr. Abdulrahman Abu Sarah, and Mr. Mishaal Al-Qahtani, who provided guidance and support, making the visit a memorable educational and recreational experience for all.
 

The Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, attended a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs on Thursday to honor the winners and participants in student activities for the academic year 1445, as well as to crown the winning student clubs.

In detail, the Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, appreciated the efforts made in this regard, highlighting the talents, abilities, and skills of the university's students, as well as the academic, cultural, and innovative achievements they have made at local, regional, and international levels.

The event began with an introductory film about the Deanship of Student Affairs, showcasing the main services offered by the deanship. This was followed by a film that presented the significant achievements of the university's students, supported by the deanship, both locally and internationally, including external participations sponsored by the deanship. Following this, a film was shown that introduced the student clubs and the criteria used to evaluate and select the winning clubs.

During the ceremony, the Acting President, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, honored the university entities that contributed to the success of the student activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. These entities included the Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, the Deanship of E-Services, the General Directorate of Institutional Communication, the General Directorate of Human Resources, the General Directorate of Investment, the General Directorate of Facilities, Afaaq newspaper, the Central Library, the University Medical City, the Maintenance and Operations Department, the Transportation Department, the Logistics Department, the Nutrition Department, the Safety and Occupational Health Department, and the University Security Department.

Dr. Dajam also honored graduates who contributed creative ideas to develop the Alumni Association platform. Additionally, supervisors of both the college and central clubs, as well as the male and female leaders of these clubs, were recognized, with commemorative photos taken.

During the ceremony, awards were presented for the best club supervisors. Dr. Raed Abdullah Al-Qahtani from the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait won Best Club Supervisor for the male students’ division, Ms. Reem Ahmed Al-Raqe’ from the College of Sciences won Best Club Supervisor for the female students’ division, and Dr. Areej Al-Ansari from the Voluntary Work Club won Best Central Club Supervisor.

The ceremony also honored the top-ranked college and central clubs. In the central clubs, the Voluntary Work Club secured first place, while the E-Sports Club came in second. Among the female student clubs, the Applied College Club in Muhail Asir took first place and was awarded the "Club Crown" banner, the Home Economics Club secured second place, and the College of Dentistry Club took third place. For the male student clubs, the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait won first place and the "Club Crown" banner, followed by the College of Science in second place, and the College of Medicine in third place.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative photos were taken with the organizing committees, in the presence of the Acting President and the leadership of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
 

The Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Du’ajam, attended the freshmen reception ceremony for the academic year 1446 on Thursday. The event was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university campus in Al-Fara’a. A number of deans, administrative heads, university staff, and a large crowd of students were also present at the event.

In his speech, the Acting President welcomed the new students, expressing the university’s pride in their enrollment and affirming that the university will make every effort to provide an ideal educational environment that supports their ambitions and aspirations. Dr. bin Du’ajam praised the great support the university receives from the wise leadership, which has enabled the university to achieve numerous accomplishments, making it a distinguished institution among universities. He also emphasized the importance of the new students familiarizing themselves with the university's rules and regulations and adhering to them to ensure a fruitful educational experience.

Referring to the significance of digital transformation in education, Dr. bin Du’ajam stressed that the university is striving to keep up with modern technological advancements by offering advanced e-learning services and developmental systems that allow students to access educational materials and university services from anywhere at any time. It is worth mentioning that a similar reception ceremony for new female students was held on Wednesday, attended by the university president’s advisor for women’s campus affairs, Professor Dr. Kholoud Abu Melha, and included a number of diverse programs.
 

In a step that reflects the commitment of the Applied College in Muhayil Asir to support its new students, a special welcome ceremony was held for the newly enrolled students on Tuesday, corresponding to 23-2-1446 Hijri, at the college auditorium. The event was organized by the college's student club in collaboration with the Student Guidance and Counseling Unit, aiming to facilitate the integration process and strengthen social bonds among the new students.

The event was attended by a number of faculty and administrative members, as well as a large group of new students. The ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech, followed by a comprehensive presentation on the academic programs offered by the college and an overview of student services such as psychological counseling and student activities provided by the club.

The Scout Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University participated in the Gulf Evening event, which was part of the 14th Scout Camp for Universities and Higher Education Institutions of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The event was held in the Wilayat of Salalah, Oman.

The participation of the Scout Club represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by presenting various cultural and heritage activities that showcased the country’s identity. The evening began with the traditional Saudi hospitality of serving Arabic coffee, a symbol of generosity and hospitality in both Arab and Gulf cultures. This was followed by a display of traditional men’s clothing from the Asir region in southern Saudi Arabia, allowing attendees to appreciate the diversity of traditional attire that reflects the authentic Saudi heritage.

In addition, the club offered an array of popular dishes that Asir is known for. This provided participants the opportunity to taste traditional Saudi cuisine, which added a distinctive cultural flavor to the event and left a lasting impression on those in attendance.

One of the standout activities of the evening was the presentation of southern Saudi folklore, a significant part of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage. Participants enjoyed the lively performances and southern rhythms, which added a joyful and interactive atmosphere to the event.

At the close of the evening, the Scout Club distributed commemorative shields and gifts bearing a Saudi theme as a token of gratitude and appreciation to the organizing and participating parties. This gesture further strengthened the bonds of brotherhood between participants from various Gulf countries.

The Scout Club’s participation in this Gulf Evening was highly praised by the attendees, who expressed their admiration for the cultural and artistic diversity showcased by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during this distinguished event.

The Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajem, expressed the university's pride in its partnership with the "Mawhiba" program during the 2024 Academic Enrichment Program. He highlighted the program's role in fostering the creative abilities of students and preparing them for the future according to the highest global standards. He emphasized the importance of investing in talented youth, stating, "Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 focuses heavily on developing human capabilities, fostering innovation and creativity, and the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program offers students a valuable opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills that will contribute to building a bright future for the Kingdom."

These remarks were made during his meeting on Tuesday morning with the talented students participating in the "Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program 2024." The program is organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in collaboration with King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The program runs for three weeks and includes over 100 gifted students from various regions of the Kingdom.

The Acting President welcomed the participants and supervisors, commending the efforts made in organizing this program, which aims to enhance knowledge and build both scientific and practical skills in students. He praised the efforts of the Talent and Innovation Unit at the Deanship of Student Affairs, led by Dr. Jamila Mishbeb Al-Rawi, for organizing and executing the program excellently. He expressed confidence that the program would achieve its educational and innovative goals and reaffirmed the university's continued support for such initiatives, which enhance its standing as a center of academic excellence and innovation.

During the visit, which was accompanied by Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, Dean of Student Affairs, the Acting President observed various activities and events offered by the program, including enrichment units in data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and engineering design principles. He also witnessed part of the classroom sessions and skill-building activities aimed at developing 21st-century skills in students.

The College of Law Club (Girls’ Section), in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students, organized its first event on Wednesday, March 8, 2024, titled "The Sports Challenge." The event took place at the sports hall in the Guraiger campus, starting at 9:00 AM and lasting for four hours.

The event was special, with attendance from the Vice Dean of the College of Law, Ms. Walaa Asiri, Vice Deans of the Public and Private Law Departments, and several faculty members, alongside a large number of students from various disciplines. The event began with a speech by Shada Hussein Al Qamash, the head of the sports committee, introducing the sports program and emphasizing the importance of physical activity. Trainers Amal and Ibtisam also gave an overview of the services provided at the sports hall.

The program aimed to foster teamwork and collaboration among students, essential skills for law students. It included various activities such as foosball, darts, basketball, soccer, chess, hockey, tug-of-war, in addition to electronic games and training sessions.

The event also featured a guest speaker, Kawthar Mohammed Issa Hammad, a basketball player from the College of Computer Science, who shared her experience learning the sport and the challenges she faced, ultimately becoming a player for the national team.

The event concluded with the distribution of awards to the winners, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere and highlighting the importance of sports in promoting general health and encouraging physical activity.
 

Cooperating with The Deanship of Student’s Affairs, The Applied College’s Club in Khamis Mushait has organized a ceremony to celebrate World’s Teacher Day, mainly presenting “ The Intelligent Teacher“ program. The program began at 12 o’clock pm with a workshop. A number of 120 female students have attended the program, in addition to 18 of the faculty members from different sectors in the college.

The program aimed to praise and show gratitude towards teachers’ role in teaching and educating generations. The program started with the National Anthem, after that an introduction about the grace of the teacher in Islam was given by student Reem Alahmari. Following That, the audience listened to the holy Qur’an recitation. Subsequently, a thanking speech was given for the students who participated and helped in this activity. 

The ceremony concluded with honoring Dr. Sara’a Abu Melha with The Shield of Thanks by the club’s students to show gratitude and appreciation for her efforts and help. The program was presented under the supervision of Dr. Reda Abdulfattah, and the supervisor of activities Bayan Alshehri.
