The Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Du’ajam, attended the freshmen reception ceremony for the academic year 1446 on Thursday. The event was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university campus in Al-Fara’a. A number of deans, administrative heads, university staff, and a large crowd of students were also present at the event.

In his speech, the Acting President welcomed the new students, expressing the university’s pride in their enrollment and affirming that the university will make every effort to provide an ideal educational environment that supports their ambitions and aspirations. Dr. bin Du’ajam praised the great support the university receives from the wise leadership, which has enabled the university to achieve numerous accomplishments, making it a distinguished institution among universities. He also emphasized the importance of the new students familiarizing themselves with the university's rules and regulations and adhering to them to ensure a fruitful educational experience.

Referring to the significance of digital transformation in education, Dr. bin Du’ajam stressed that the university is striving to keep up with modern technological advancements by offering advanced e-learning services and developmental systems that allow students to access educational materials and university services from anywhere at any time. He encouraged students to benefit from the expertise and guidance provided by the faculty, who will be a great support in their academic journey.

The Dean of Student Affairs at the university, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, also welcomed the new students, affirming that the university is proud of them and considers them partners in its achievements. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the services offered by the deanship through its various departments and centers.

This year’s ceremony included an introductory and awareness exhibition for the new students, with the participation of several university departments. The exhibition showcased the most important systems, services, and programs provided by the university, aimed at helping students adapt to university life and make the most of the available educational opportunities.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of new students from various disciplines. The event featured interventions from deans of colleges and supporting services to introduce students to the roles of different colleges, deanships, and administrative units. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions, which were answered directly by the relevant departments.

It is worth mentioning that a similar reception ceremony for new female students was held on Wednesday, attended by the university president’s advisor for women’s campus affairs, Professor Dr. Kholoud Abu Melha, and included a number of diverse programs.
