The Student Affairs Deanship's scouting club participated in the Gulf evening event, held as part of the 14th Gulf Universities Rover Camp in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Scout Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University participated in the Gulf Evening event, which was part of the 14th Scout Camp for Universities and Higher Education Institutions of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The event was held in the Wilayat of Salalah, Oman.
The participation of the Scout Club represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by presenting various cultural and heritage activities that showcased the country’s identity. The evening began with the traditional Saudi hospitality of serving Arabic coffee, a symbol of generosity and hospitality in both Arab and Gulf cultures. This was followed by a display of traditional men’s clothing from the Asir region in southern Saudi Arabia, allowing attendees to appreciate the diversity of traditional attire that reflects the authentic Saudi heritage.
In addition, the club offered an array of popular dishes that Asir is known for. This provided participants the opportunity to taste traditional Saudi cuisine, which added a distinctive cultural flavor to the event and left a lasting impression on those in attendance.
One of the standout activities of the evening was the presentation of southern Saudi folklore, a significant part of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage. Participants enjoyed the lively performances and southern rhythms, which added a joyful and interactive atmosphere to the event.
At the close of the evening, the Scout Club distributed commemorative shields and gifts bearing a Saudi theme as a token of gratitude and appreciation to the organizing and participating parties. This gesture further strengthened the bonds of brotherhood between participants from various Gulf countries.
