Additionally, Dr. Khalida from the Student Care and Counseling Unit gave a speech about the importance of academic guidance, while Dr. Duria Hassan emphasized the need for practical and field excellence in nursing. Ms. Nawal Asiri also delivered a speech on the role of extracurricular activities in developing students’ academic and social skills.

The program aimed to introduce students to the significance of the applied college in the job market, while also covering topics such as Blackboard, Academia, academic guidance, and student activities.

The event began at 9:30 AM, hosted by the outstanding student Farah Abdullah under the supervision of Dr. Hayat. The program witnessed a large turnout, with opening remarks by the college’s CEO Dr. Abdullah Hassan, followed by a motivational talk from Ms. Rowan, the student activities supervisor.

The program included a speech by Ms. Wafa, a former student club member, now a teaching assistant, who shared her inspirational journey. Dr. Nawal closed the event by discussing the role of counseling and its impact on academic performance.
 

The College of Dentistry – Female Students Branch, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs – Female Students Affairs, organized an event titled “Between the Pages and Library Shelves” on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, corresponding to 8 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH, at the Central Library of King Khalid University – Al-Faraa, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The event witnessed the attendance of approximately 60 female students from various departments and colleges, along with several faculty members. Visitors from different colleges also participated in the event, which aimed to familiarize the students with the knowledge resources available in the library, particularly in the fields of dentistry, in addition to highlighting the services the library provides to university members.

The event included a session on proper reading techniques, during which notebooks and pens were distributed to encourage students to jot down the knowledge gained from the books. A wooden board was also provided for students to share their opinions and experiences during the visit.

The event also featured a comprehensive tour of the library, where students explored the various sections and services, including study areas, Arabic and English book shelves, and specialized health and dentistry books. The tour further showcased individual and group study rooms, computer labs, artificial intelligence labs, lecture halls, and workshop rooms.

At the conclusion of the tour, a discussion was held regarding the benefits of the visit, and students were asked about their favorite books and the valuable information they obtained. Additionally, booklets, coffee cups, chocolates, and bookmarks with motivational designs were distributed.

By the end of the event, students expressed their satisfaction with the visit and their admiration for the library and the services offered. The participants extended their gratitude to the event organizers.

The event opened with a welcome speech by the College Vice Dean, followed by a program introduction by student Afyaa Al Amer, which aimed to debunk common misconceptions about the Early Childhood and Psychology disciplines. The program featured interactive educational sessions led by Dr. Abeer Al-Shahri from the Psychology Department and Dr. Rasha Al-Sayed and Dr. Tahani Al-Qaisi from the Early Childhood Department. Special guests included Fatima Saeed, a psychological specialist from the Armed Forces Hospitals, and Ibtisam Al-Shahrani, a senior teacher from Fatima Al-Zahra Kindergarten.

On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Pharmacy College Club at King Khalid University organized an exceptional event titled **"Medicines Tell Stories."** The event highlighted a variety of unique medical topics and featured active participation from multiple committees, adding richness and diversity to the content.

The event featured several sections, including stories of rare medical cases and their treatments, unconventional therapies used in various cultures, and stories of drug discoveries. Additionally, the event highlighted national contributions, specifically focusing on our nation's role in developing certain medications and providing expensive drugs free of charge to citizens.

Pamphlets and printed materials containing valuable information on the discussed topics were distributed at the sections, contributing to increased awareness among attendees. Several pharmacy students volunteered to oversee the sections, explaining the topics and discussing details with visitors, adding an interactive element to the event.

A delightful hospitality corner offered visitors drinks and sweets, while a special section for ornamental plants provided a beautiful ambiance and shared information on the medicinal benefits of plants, showcasing medications derived from botanical sources. The event also included a recreational section with games and puzzles, making the atmosphere more fun and engaging.

Attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers through activities conducted by the club's students, which fostered a sense of participation and community among the students.

The program took place on Sunday, September 10, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the college auditorium, attended by faculty members and students.

The event opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming speech from the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, who highlighted the college's continuous support for students and its commitment to providing the best educational environment for them.

The faculty advisor of the student club then gave a speech, focusing on the vital role the club plays in encouraging students to actively participate in university activities and develop their personal skills, thus enriching their university experience and shaping their personalities.

The event concluded with a speech by the head of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, who discussed the essential role the department plays in supporting students throughout their academic journey. He explained how the department provides educational and counseling services, along with psychological and social support, to help students navigate the challenges of university life. He also highlighted the comprehensive services offered by the department, aiming to enhance students' university experience and empower them to achieve academic success.

On Tuesday, 30/2/1446 AH, the Applied College Club in Abha, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students and the House of Culture in Ahad Rafidah, organized a cultural visit to the Asir Manuscripts Exhibition. The program aimed to introduce female students to the importance of preserving heritage and raising cultural awareness about the rich history left by their ancestors.

The event began with an introductory session by Mr. Faisal, the Director of the House of Culture, who explained the differences between cultural houses and public libraries, highlighting the various services these institutions provide to different community groups. He answered the students' questions about the roles these cultural institutions play.

The students were divided into three groups, each accompanied by supervisors, and toured different sections of the House of Culture. On the first floor, they explored the manuscripts exhibition, which houses rare manuscripts dating back to the 13th century, discussing their historical significance and value.

In a unique experience, the students used artificial intelligence technologies through a virtual reality station. They attended a virtual exhibition at King Abdulaziz University via Metaverse glasses, adding a new dimension to their cultural experience.

The tour continued on the second floor, where scientific and specialized books were displayed, along with innovation rooms and modern technologies for people with disabilities. Meeting rooms and learning spaces, designed to foster creative thinking, were also showcased.
The students then visited the children's library and the women's section to learn how these spaces are utilized for developing knowledge and skills. At the end of the tour, they were invited to use the facilities of the House of Culture for their academic and entrepreneurial projects.

The event was marked by active participation from the students, who engaged enthusiastically in the activities and discussions throughout the tour. The event was supervised by Mr. Faisal Braidi, Mr. Abdulrahman Abu Sarah, and Mr. Mishaal Al-Qahtani, who provided guidance and support, making the visit a memorable educational and recreational experience for all.
 

The Acting President of King Khalid University, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, attended a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs on Thursday to honor the winners and participants in student activities for the academic year 1445, as well as to crown the winning student clubs.

In detail, the Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, appreciated the efforts made in this regard, highlighting the talents, abilities, and skills of the university's students, as well as the academic, cultural, and innovative achievements they have made at local, regional, and international levels.

The event began with an introductory film about the Deanship of Student Affairs, showcasing the main services offered by the deanship. This was followed by a film that presented the significant achievements of the university's students, supported by the deanship, both locally and internationally, including external participations sponsored by the deanship. Following this, a film was shown that introduced the student clubs and the criteria used to evaluate and select the winning clubs.

During the ceremony, the Acting President, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, honored the university entities that contributed to the success of the student activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. These entities included the Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, the Deanship of E-Services, the General Directorate of Institutional Communication, the General Directorate of Human Resources, the General Directorate of Investment, the General Directorate of Facilities, Afaaq newspaper, the Central Library, the University Medical City, the Maintenance and Operations Department, the Transportation Department, the Logistics Department, the Nutrition Department, the Safety and Occupational Health Department, and the University Security Department.

Dr. Dajam also honored graduates who contributed creative ideas to develop the Alumni Association platform. Additionally, supervisors of both the college and central clubs, as well as the male and female leaders of these clubs, were recognized, with commemorative photos taken.

During the ceremony, awards were presented for the best club supervisors. Dr. Raed Abdullah Al-Qahtani from the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait won Best Club Supervisor for the male students’ division, Ms. Reem Ahmed Al-Raqe’ from the College of Sciences won Best Club Supervisor for the female students’ division, and Dr. Areej Al-Ansari from the Voluntary Work Club won Best Central Club Supervisor.

The ceremony also honored the top-ranked college and central clubs. In the central clubs, the Voluntary Work Club secured first place, while the E-Sports Club came in second. Among the female student clubs, the Applied College Club in Muhail Asir took first place and was awarded the "Club Crown" banner, the Home Economics Club secured second place, and the College of Dentistry Club took third place. For the male student clubs, the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait won first place and the "Club Crown" banner, followed by the College of Science in second place, and the College of Medicine in third place.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative photos were taken with the organizing committees, in the presence of the Acting President and the leadership of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
