The Artificial Intelligence Club at the Dean of Student Affairs organized an event titled “Asir Artificial Intelligence Day,” on Wednesday, October 30 2024 ,attended by over 300 individuals interested in the field of artificial intelligence. The event was held in partnership with the Abha Chamber of Commerce.
The College of Medicine Club organized a workshop on “ECG Interpretation” on Tuesday, April 26, 1446 AH, at Abha Private Hospital in collaboration with the Student Affairs Deanship. Led by specialists Dr. Abdullah Shatour and Dr. Ali Al-Bashabshi, the workshop trained over 200 students on essential ECG reading skills, highlighting a strong interest in practical medical training.
The 2024 Chess Championship for Saudi Universities (Female Students) concluded at King Khalid University from October 23 to 25, with the participation of over 100 female students representing 30 universities. The event was organized by the Saudi Universities Sports Federation under the Ministry of Education
The winners were honored during the closing ceremony, which was attended by Dr. Nouf bint Mohammed Al-Hammad, Advisor to the Saudi Universities Sports Federation and Championship Director; Prof. Kholoud Saad Abu Melha, Advisor to the President of King Khalid University for Female Student Campus Affairs; and Dr. Arej Aidh Al-Buher, Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Female Students.
The first place, along with the gold medal, golden trophy, and a cash prize of SAR 4,000, was awarded to Meshael Al-Tamimi from Princess Nourah University. The second place went to Shurooq Ali Al-Rasheedi from the University of Hail, who received the silver medal, silver trophy, and a cash prize of SAR 3,000. The third place, with the bronze medal, bronze trophy, and a cash prize of SAR 2,000, was awarded to Tala Abdulhadi Al-Wasabi from Taibah University.
Dr. Nouf Al-Hammad praised the exceptional organization and the strong competitive spirit displayed during the championship. She expressed her gratitude to King Khalid University and the Deanship of Student Affairs for their outstanding efforts in professionally managing the event, which greatly contributed to its success.
“College of Law Club at King Khalid University organized a field visit to the Administrative Court in Abha on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, to enhance students’ legal knowledge. During the visit, students were introduced to the court’s operations and its role in upholding administrative justice. The court’s team provided an overview of the departments and legal procedures, and students engaged in discussions with staff on common cases in the courts. This visit aims to prepare students professionally and deepen their understanding of the legal environment.”
The Arabic Department, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a cultural activity titled “Linguistic Innovations in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on Tuesday, 20/4/1446 H, at the College of Science Theater. The event began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Mai Fareq, followed by Dr. Abeer Al-Fifi’s speech on the importance of such activities in supporting student creativity. Ms. Amal Mohammed highlighted students’ role in enriching the department. The program featured student-prepared visual presentations and interactive games, concluding with an AI-driven activity to produce creative Arabic texts.
The Applied College Club in Mahayel Asir won second place in the E-Sports Championship at the 10th Olympiad organized by King Khalid University. The competition saw wide participation, with the team showcasing impressive skills and strategies. Congratulations to the team, and we look forward to more successes.
The Faculty of Arts and Culture Club, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students and in partnership with the Faculty of Education Club, organized a program titled A Day Around the World on Monday, 11/4/1446 AH, in the college theater. The program also featured an exhibition showcasing traditional clothing and popular dishes from various countries in the workshop hall.
The event, which started at 10 a.m. and lasted until 12 p.m., aimed to raise awareness about cultural diversity and offer insights into the customs and traditions that distinguish different nations. It promoted understanding and cooperation between cultures around the world.
The “world tour” featured five countries: Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, and India. Students from the Faculty of Arts and Culture Club, along with the Faculty of Education Club, introduced the audience to the cultures and languages of these nations, while displaying traditional attire and serving well-known dishes from each country. This added an enriching, global flavor to the event, celebrating the beauty of cultural diversity.
As smart agriculture gains strategic importance in enhancing food security and achieving sustainable development in Saudi Arabia, the Applied College Club in Mahayel, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students, organized an event titled “Protected Agriculture: A Gateway to Innovation in Agricultural Production.” The event took the form of a visit to the Mahayel Municipality Nursery as part of the “Innovation in the Green Environment” program, held on Monday, 11/04/1446 AH, at 10 a.m.
This event served as a key opportunity to shed light on the current state of agriculture in the Kingdom and the challenges facing the sector, while also raising awareness about the importance of protected agriculture and other modern farming techniques. A total of 20 students specializing in smart agriculture benefited from the event, gaining hands-on experience with protected farming technologies and innovations that can be applied in the field.
