As part of the university’s efforts to promote mental health awareness, the College of Education Club, in collaboration with the Student Affairs Department for Female Students and in partnership with Irtiqa Family and Psychological Counseling Center, organized an awareness event titled “Supporting the Mental and Psychological Health of Mothers”. The event took place on Sunday, 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH, at 5:00 PM in Mojan Park Square, with notable attendance from local families and children.

The event aimed to shed light on the importance of mental health for new mothers and to educate husbands on how to provide psychological support to postpartum mothers. The event featured brochures and educational presentations explaining the role of psychologists in offering necessary support to mothers, as well as guidance on the benefits of breastfeeding and its positive impact on both mother and child.

Interactive counseling sessions were conducted by specialists from Irtiqa Center, and a dedicated area for children’s activities ensured a safe and enjoyable environment. At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Qahtani, along with the Vice Dean for Activities, Dr. Saad Al-Qahtani, launched a guidebook titled “A Shining Star in Your Child’s Sky,” authored by the club’s leader, Raneem Al-Nijaimi, in collaboration with outstanding students in both academic and literary fields.

This event successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness among new mothers and the surrounding community about the significance of mental and psychological health, promoting healthy growth for children, and supporting overall family well-being.
