On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the College of Applied Medical Sciences Club in Mahayil Asir, in partnership with the College of Nursing (Male Section), organized an educational course titled “How to Become a Paramedic.” The course was delivered by Mr. Yasser Asiri, who spoke about essential first aid techniques and the necessary precautions to take during emergencies.

The course was attended by a group of students and faculty members, who actively engaged with the subject. The session provided a clear and simplified explanation of how to effectively and safely handle emergency injuries. It aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of learning and mastering first aid, given its significant role in saving lives and reducing risks during sudden accidents.

The event saw significant audience interaction, with productive discussions and rich debates. Club members moderated the session, offering them a chance to showcase and support their talents. The session not only provided new insights into America’s rise but also helped deepen the understanding of the forces driving global dynamics.

The seminar emphasized that economic and scientific innovation, along with influential policies in global trade and international relations, have been and continue to be critical factors in America’s ascendance to global dominance. On World Mental Health Day, the Pharmacy Club participated in the “Mental Health in the Workplace” campaign organized by Iradah Hospital and Mental Health in Abha, under the sponsorship of the CEO of Asir Health Cluster, at Al-Rashed Mall yesterday, October 10, 2024.

As part of our commitment to community responsibility, we take pride in being the only club participating in this campaign to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. During the event, emphasis was placed on the significance of mental health and its impact on personal and professional performance. Additionally, pharmaceutical consultations were offered to visitors, with club members addressing their inquiries about medications and their effects, contributing to raising awareness about mental health and how to improve it in workplace environments.

The campaign witnessed significant interaction from attendees, playing an effective role in promoting health culture within the community and highlighting the importance of psychological support and awareness in achieving a healthy and positive work environment.

The Nursing College Club in Mahayel, in collaboration with the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs (Female Section) and the Applied College in Mahayel (Female Section), organized an event titled “Calm Mind for Better Mental Health” on Thursday, October 10, in conjunction with World Mental Health Day. The event focused on the impact of stress and academic pressure on mental and physical health, aiming to raise awareness among students about the importance of managing stress in healthy ways.

The event featured a series of practical and educational activities, including deep breathing and stretching exercises as effective methods to reduce stress and restore mental and physical balance. Additionally, a lecture was given on time management strategies, highlighting how proper planning can help reduce stress and improve academic performance.

Informative brochures were distributed, offering tips on maintaining mental health and emphasizing the importance of combining healthy habits with balanced nutrition. Healthy refreshments were also provided to raise awareness of the connection between good nutrition and improved mental and physical well-being. The event was well-received by attendees and successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the importance of prioritizing mental health in their academic and personal lives.

The Applied Medical Sciences Club in Khamis Mushait, in collaboration with the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs (Female Section), organized a sports event on Thursday, 7th of Rabi’ al-Thani 1446 AH, from 10 AM to 1 PM in the college yard. The event featured sports game stations and healthy refreshments, along with competitions such as soccer and jump rope. Over 150 female students attended the event, which concluded with the crowning of the College of Science and Arts team with medals and a trophy. The event successfully achieved its goals of fostering team spirit and encouraging talent development among the students.

College of Applied Medical Sciences Organizes Breast Cancer Awareness Event in Collaboration with Educational and Technical Affairs

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the College of Applied Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Educational Services and Technical Affairs, held a Breast Cancer Awareness event. Organized by members and students of the Radiology Department, the event included distributing informative brochures and displaying educational videos on iPads, emphasizing the importance of early breast cancer detection and its role in controlling the disease. The event also included demonstrations of self-examination techniques at home and the best times for doing so. Additionally, breast examinations were conducted at the college clinic for interested individuals by eighth-level students under the supervision of department faculty, with referrals for further testing provided to those with suspected findings.

The exhibition served as a platform to highlight environmental innovations and share knowledge about sustainability strategies aimed at improving the environment. It attracted notable attendance, benefiting more than 200 participants, reflecting the growing interest in adopting innovative solutions to protect the environment and promote eco-friendly practices.

The program included a variety of competitions such as badminton, table football, hockey, and chess. It witnessed a large turnout, with around one hundred students attending, cheering, and participating. The event took place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, creating an exciting and interactive atmosphere that encouraged teamwork and healthy competition among the students.

The event took place at the Far’aa campus for male students and at the Qreeqar campus for female students.

The campaign witnessed a large turnout from both male and female students. The Engineering College Club, in collaboration with the Law and Shariah College Clubs, organized the “Joint Cultural Olympiad” competition on Thursday, 7th of Rabi’ al-Thani, 1446 AH, held at the Shariah College theater. The competition started with the participation of 8 teams representing the three colleges, following a knockout system, which added excitement and challenge to the event. The questions spanned five different categories, covering diverse cultural and scientific topics, aimed at fostering teamwork and highlighting the participants’ knowledge and general awareness.

The competition was fierce, with multiple rounds as the teams advanced through the stages. In the end, the Law College team emerged victorious, securing first place with an impressive performance and quick responses. The Engineering College team came in second after a strong effort. The event was well-attended by students who enthusiastically supported their teams, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. This competition provided an excellent opportunity for inter-college collaboration and encouraged students to expand their knowledge in a fun and competitive environment.
